Rehabilitation Services: Post-Offer Evaluations
PRS can perform a post-offer screening process in cooperation with
the Medical Department to establish the baseline functioning levels
of all new employees. These assessments will test a worker’s
ability to perform specific job functions and can actually help
supervisors to assign an employee where he or she will be the most
effective. They can also be invaluable in the handling of worker
compensation claims because they will provide the employer with
a baseline from which to determine an employee’s prior level
of functioning. Areas of Assessment will include:
- Medical history and physical Blood pressure and pulse rate Active range of motion of all areas (Shoulder,
elbow, wrist, forearm, hand, thumb, hip, knee, ankle, spine) 5-rung Jamar dynamometer assessment with coefficients
of variation computed Manual Muscle Testing of all Functional Motions P.I.L.E. Lifting assessment by looking at the
lifting waist to floor and back, as well as waist to eye level
and back. Additionally, this test assesses heart rate during testing,
safe lifting technique and total endurance time.
- Provocative Testing, such as Finkelstein’s
Phalen’s and shoulder stability tests
Specific tests to assess an employee’s ability
to perform essential job demands include:
- push/pull measures Minnesota Rate of Manipulation Test nine peg hole test crawling climbing a ladder standing on one foot backwards walking endurance walking assessment sensory testing rolling a barrel “blind” work assessment

- BTE Work Simulator
- Greenleaf Evaluations with validation test assessment
