These services range from job site analyses, functional
capacity evaluations, post offer screenings, rehabilitation programs
and preventative educational programs.
PRS utilizes a functional approach and the most
effective treatment techniques to return employees to work safely
and expediently. PRS is a strong leader in rehabilitation, which
encourages a team approach among therapists and with the business
office.
PRS develops and implements suggestions for industrial clients in
conjunction with ergonomics and safety personnel. They communicate
directly with physicians, nurses, safety team members, supervisors,
team leaders, committee members and plant leaders. PRS believes
strongly that direct and detailed communication is the key to avoiding
conflicts and ensuring successful program development and implementation.
Therapy and rehabilitation programs are tailored to match the requests
by each plant in their scope of work requirements. Therapists will
develop, evaluate and update exercise and treatment programs to
condition new employees and aid in recovery after injury. Our therapists
specialize in functional capacity evaluations and the progression
to work hardening programs. They see that protocols are followed
for each treatment diagnosis to ensure progressive care and consistent
standards of practice. They maintain personnel and therapy records
and produce reports for payer sources and business planning needs.
Our stability in staffing and ability to effectively communicate
with all plant personnel makes us stand out. We have had the same
staff members at our largest industrial client for the last three
years and more than 80% of them for the last 10 years. This longevity
has allowed us to become an integral part of the plant with daily
interfaces with both management and union personnel. We are on a
first name basis with much of the plant; this earned trust has allowed
us to implement programs seamlessly with buy-in from both management
and union representatives. The consistency in staffing has also
been key to early return to work and fosters an effective care plan
in conjunction with the injured employee. We have been able to maintain
our separate identity as a contractual service but also gain the
trust through non-judgmental and holistic care with treatment and
wellness focused on what is best for the employee within the realms
of the plant environment.
