Orthopedic RehabilitationGeneral Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Physical and occupational therapy intervention is designed to improve functional performance with activities of daily living after an injury, surgery or other medical conditions that causes musculoskeletal limitations. Diagnosis may include fractures, ligamentous sprains, muscular injuries, arthritis and posture-related problems of the upper and lower extremity, as well as the spine. Treatment methods including therapeutic exercise, manual techniques, specific modalities, and patient education are utilized when indicated to assist clients in reaching their goals.

Postural AssessmentPostural Assessment

Common postural problems underlie many neck and back conditions. Whenever discomfort develops from maintaining a constant posture or from sustaining muscle contractions for a period of time, active stretching in the opposite direction aids in taking stress off supporting structures, promoting circulation and maintaining flexibility. The physical therapist is trained in the assessment of posture and is able to educated the client on ways to decrease pain by increasing postural awareness.

Sports RehabilitationSport Specific Rehabilitation

Certified Athletic Trainers specialize in the rehabilitation of athletic injuries. ATC’s work with all levels of athletes from professional to recreational with the goal of returning athletes to their previous level of function for their particular sport. Sports specific rehabilitation involves breaking down aspects of sport into small tasks and developing the strength, flexibility, endurance and power to perform each task alone and in a progression that allows for a safe return to their sport.

Client EducationClient Education Program

Client education will be a major part of any rehabilitation program. Our therapists will educate clients regarding their diagnosis, Home Exercise Programs, restoring Activities of Daily Living (ADL’S), restoring function, and improving overallwellness.
